Elphie Quinn

Born in Brighton but raised between France and the UK, the idea of tattooing for a living was set in stone as a teenager for Elphie. She pursued her degree in Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, to find confidence in her work and fine tune her taste in imagery. She was shown how to handpoke in her second year of university and was completely taken with the meditative, gentle, and almost primal nature of the method. Now working with the beautiful Brighton Tattoo Collective, Elphie works hard to make every customer feel at home and listened to. She believes that tattooing is a collaboration between artist and client, and this ancient craft should be cherished and honoured with every individual who wishes to be marked by her.

Elphie is inspired by all things woodland, birds, botanical, or magical in essence. Her unique style stands out almost immediately with its whimsical cheeky creatures and earthen inspirations. She especially enjoys doing delicate ornamental pieces on fingers and ears, and her clean bold designs leave her clients with beautiful pieces that stand the test of time. Elphie usually creates in black and grey with delicate shading and details, although has extensive experience in colour, taking on large scale projects using every shade you can imagine. If you’ve got an idea she can bring it into existence- she’s always happy to create something custom based off your inspiration.

Elphie’s easy warmth and kindness can be felt the moment you walk through the door. Her gentle empathy and cheeky laugh make everyone feel at home, and her clients return again and again, not only for her beautiful artistry, but for her thoughtful care. She is the height of being professional and personable, and her excellent eye and passion for tattooing is clear to anyone who meets her. We’re convinced she’s some type of forest fae who continues to bless us with her presence, and we don’t know how we got so lucky, but we’ll certainly keep her.
