Louisa Blake-Hopper

Louisa Hopper is the founder of Brighton Tattoo Collective. A brilliant painter and crafter, Lou found her way to tattooing after beginning her studies in Animal Behaviour, Care & Sciences. After training and tattooing extensively in London, she was cast in E4’s “Tattoo Fixers” which highlighted her talent for transforming old pieces into new beloved designs. She has run several studios and worked internationally, all the while growing her expanse of tattoo skills, and has several clients with years of ongoing projects. Now based out of East Sussex, she opened Brighton Tattoo Collective in February of 2022, and has built our artistic haven from the ground up, utilising her exquisite eye for detail (and often her bare hands) to create the beautiful space you see today (and if you haven’t been- you must come see it for yourself).

Constantly inspired by the natural world and vintage illustration, Lou still utilises her extensive knowledge of creatures big and small while emblazoning them in ink. Always up for lush detail and colour, or funky bold Traditional, Lou is our resident tattoo wizard- regardless of what you’re looking to have done- she’ll make magic. She’s always keen to build full bold back pieces and other large scale projects that she can fully dive into- so take a peek through her extensive “want to do” lists if you’re in need of inspiration!

Lou is not only a brilliant tattooist, but a luminous person. Her warm energy and passionate vision draws people in, and they stay for her infectious quick humour and engaging spirit. She is always striving to create the best possible experience, not only for her clients, but for the studio. Generous with her time and her knowledge, she’s a true teacher and enjoys nurturing new artists and building artistic community.
