Louis Eckert

Louis was drawn to the world of tattooing from a young age. Developing his foundation of artistic skills through a multitude of mediums, he went on to pursue an apprenticeship several years ago and now works with Brighton Tattoo Collective.

Louis draws upon techniques from Neo-Trad and Traditional alike, though his own style is heavily influenced by the worlds of horror and metal music (two of his other great loves). Louis enjoys both heavy black work as well as bold bright colour, creating detailed and ornate pieces, playing in the worlds of dark ornamental as well as bringing film and game references to life. Although he has a distinct personal style, his years of experience with walk-in and custom clients alike has ensured he is able to adapt to any style. Louis is always developing his craft, and you’ll often find him working on new designs, or learning new techniques- dedicated to constantly expanding his practice and growing as a tattooer.

Outside of work Louis enjoys playing guitar, watching classic horror films or taking a joyride on his motorbike. Alongside Louis’s excellent tattooing, his real skill lies in his gentle and grounded kindness. Louis makes everyone feel instantly comfortable, and his warmth and care with his clients ensure they have the best possible experience. Adept at taking their inspiration and listening and adapting, you can easily tell how much he cares about making sure his clients leave with a piece they love.
